Norman Gascoigne

Norman Gascoigne is a senior business executive who enjoyed a successful 34 year career with National Westminster Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

He retired from the bank in December 2001 from the position of Managing Director of the corporate and commercial banking operations with responsibility for the Midlands and West Region.

The standing and respect of Norman from the Birmingham & West Midlands business community is evidenced by him having held the following appointments during his eight years in the region:

  • Director of Birmingham Forward, having been its Chairman in 1998/9.
  • CBI Regional Council Member for West Midlands
  • Director Birmingham Chamber of Commerce
  • Chairman West Midlands Bankers Association

Norman is now pursuing a second career as a business advisor and non executive director within the SME sector.

Outside of business Norman is past Chair of the West Midland's Region of The Lord's Taverners, helping to give youngsters, particularly the disadvantaged a sporting chance. He is a committee member of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, chairing the Membership Marketing and PR sub committee. His interest in the development of cricket for youngsters extends to his membership of the Warwickshire Cricket Board and Supporters Association committees.

Norman is married with one son and lives in South Warwickshire and serves as a parish councilor for his village.
